The right quality of water is one of the most important ingredients for a greenhouse in helping crops grow well.
In horticulture, water re-circulation in a closed cycle is often used to save on costs for water and fertilizer, but also because it’s more environmentally friendly. The fertilizer that’s recaptured can be reused. Although re-circulation has many benefits, it also increases the risk of pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungi etc.) in the water, these pathogens can pose a threat to the health of the crops. In order to reuse water in a safe and responsible manner and prevent the spread of pathogens, recirculated water needs the right treatment.
With the mission to make re-circulation as safe and efficient as possible we’ve developed the Aqualux Professional. Aqualux is a low pressure disinfection unit that uses UV light to eliminate nematodes, bacteria, fungi’s and viruses present in water. In combination with filtration, Aqualux guarantees up to a 1,000 fold reduction of pathogens after the water has been treated. We’ve designed Aqualux to be as efficient as possible with minimal costs for use. With our intelligent flow technology and self cleaning function Aqualux can operate fully autonomously and needs minimal maintenance, in the end you save on costs. Aqualux with filtration guarantees up to a 1,000-fold reduction of pathogens, in combination with the UV sensor this assures that you always get the right disinfection of your water.
Aqualux can be controlled remotely from any location on the planet by using the Aqualux applications. At any time it’s possible to follow the disinfection process and adjust settings when necessary, without being physically present.
Sand and tiny dirt particles can influence disinfection and in the long run even damage the UV lights. To remove these particles Aqualux uses an automatic screen filter which can remove particles as small as 25 micron. By filtering the water Aqualux can guarantee the same level of disinfection, time after time, and prolongs the lifespan of your system.
High quality UV light
Aqualux uses low pressure 800W UV-C lights to disinfect water inside the UV reactor. The design of the reactor together with the lights achieves a high energy efficiency. The minimum lifetime of the lights is at least 12.000 working hours.
UV sensor and monitoring of the lamps
Many disinfection machines irradiate water as much as possible without checking whether the desired degree of disinfection has been achieved. By means of a UV sensor, Aqualux continuously optimizes its performance and controls the lamps to the desired radiation level, so that the correct disinfection is guaranteed and the disinfection proceeds efficiently. The operation of the lamps is controlled electronically by monitoring the power consumption. If one of the lamps shows a deviation, the process stops and an alarm is triggered.
Automatic cleaning of the quartz tubes.
Over time, quartz tubes become dirty, reducing the permeability of the tubes and causing the lamps to burn brighter. Cleaning the quartz tubes is often a costly process. For that reason, Aqualux is able to clean the quartz tubes fully automatically with the aid of an acid control. This saves on maintenance and the UV lamps perform to the maximum.
